Hey Beautiful People! If your week was anything like mine it’s been heavy & full of reflection, protests, empowerment! I’m in full support of the movements that have been circling social media and plaguing the world this week but, as always, I need time to process and reflect. I needed a little self care. Plus, with all of the faux fur coats I’ve bought this season, I’ve been loving getting dressed lately — just saying 🙂
Using my AT&T Rewards, I randomly purchased two tickets to catch Jumanji at the dine-in theater and made necessary time for uncontrollable laughter that Kevin Hart always provides. Do you all remember the original with Robin Williams (R.I.P)? Ugh, nostalgia! The kind of memories from my childhood that unquestionably feels good. Needed that.
Needed to get out of the house and clear my head — heck, my heart too! I refuse to let this cruel world change me. So, I have become intentional about checking in with myself and amping up on whatever it is I may need to get me through and not only survive but, thrive. Laughter never hurts!
Well, that’s not true. With Kevin Hart … it’s painfully funny, haha.
Also, I found myself being very aware of how much I was laughing. How much I was enjoying myself! (Although this photo only reflects me being tired, I was still happy! lol)
Last year I went on a journey for a #YearOfIntent, challenging myself to be more aware and conscious of my thoughts and actions to curate the life I want to live. Even though I slipped up and down right fell short at times, it’s now a way of life more than it has ever been before! One time for growth.
It’s becoming somewhat second nature to be grateful and appreciative of things most don’t even think of until it’s too late. I find myself in the moment much more. I understand its necessary to take a second to show gratitude. And in my times of reflection, I am even more indebted for the awareness as much as I am pleased with the experience! Seriously people, they bring your food to you while watching the movie — what’s better than that?
Without reflection, we go blindly on our way, creating more unintended consequences, and failing to achieve anything useful. — Margaret J. Wheatley
We focus on putting in the work throughout our journey, we can forget to make time for some fun! It’s all about balance, beautiful people. If you haven’t already, check out Jumanji, pick up a ticket for Proud Mary and make sure you’re showing up to see Black Panther in theaters. Let’s support each other, love on yourselves and thrive because we can!
until next time,
