I guess the early bird really does catch the worm! I woke up this morning & just missed the sun rise. By the time 8 tocked on my clock, I was famished & instead of cooking my usual Big Momma Sunday breakfast, we ate out! At our oldie but goodie spot, that’s always packed, & our favorite waiter always flashing a smile — I ordered my usual bananas + whipped cream & tried out their *new* strawberry oj. pretty tasty, I must admit.
after breakfast, I wanted to stop by the flower shop to bring that lovely Spring feeling in the home with some fresh floral goodness! It’s been a while since I’ve picked out a small bouquet but it was fun & definitely something I’ll be adding to my Spring/Summer weekly to-do’s. Just walking around the place was refreshing — the smell alone was delightful! & the colors .. so beautiful. I love nature. Weird & Amazing … at the same damn time!
(Random: why didn’t I go to Coachella this year?)
I was too geeked to bring this these beautiful babies home with me. fresh water + fresh flowers = happy me 🙂
it was a must that I took a stroll around the neighborhood & really enjoy this weather. Hell – we’ve been waiting all Winter for days like today!
Don’t say you haven’t. I was soaking in those rays, baby .. those rays!
made it all the way (lol..like 10 blocks) to the Boulevard where NYC is your backdrop. The man knows I’m a sucker for some scenery. I kicked up some rocks, took some pics, shared a few smiles + head nods at a few folks, & laughed as I eased on down, eased on down the road.
Theme songs in my head wherever I go. Am I the only one? Can’t be. (Tweet me)
I didn’t mention my “change clothes” moment when we got home. That sun came out slapping Mama’s after breakfast & I wasn’t ready. Boyfriend shorts never fail tho. Or so I thought. My rolls kept unraveling, so I may have to DIY & sew those suckers down. They come on all vacays. I can just see me on South Beach or in the Everglades. *snap out of it… you aren’t there yet, Staci..hold that thought!!*
I even discovered some very cute eateries & coffee shops — not that I drink coffee. but I do drink tea! & some BYOBs. who doesn’t love that ? Next Ladies Who Brunch on my mind. I’m always thinking about my girls. But, it’s just nice to get out and see what’s in your neighborhood. When we first moved in, it was the end of the Summer so we didn’t get to check out the ‘hood much. I’m so excited for Summer this year!
On the way home we stopped by the market for some empanadas (not pictured, already devoured) + pineapples. SO GOOD!
& then of course, I sat on the balcony & watched the neighbors kids play soccer & the birds chirp back and forth in whatever bird talk language they had going on. Spring is in full effect & although the icee men aren’t out selling icee’s out of Dixie cups yet — I couldn’t resist having a Firecracker ice pop for my EXPLOSIVE Sunday!
